At Guyz ‘n’ Dollz we’re always looking for new ways to enhance our treatments. As part of the expansion of our treatments, we’re pleased to announce that we are now offering appointments with DermaStudios in our salon.
DermaStudios provide a range of non-surgical cosmetic treatments. From well-known treatments, such as chemical peels and anti-wrinkle injections to less well-known treatments like non-surgical rhinoplasty and ‘vampire facelifts’.
We’ll cover some of the treatments below, but there are lots more. For more information on the treatments, or to book an appointment, you can call the salon on 01933 222 228.
Platelet Rich Plasma Procedure
Platelet Rich Plasma treatment is something that has been around for quite some time, for treating the injuries of athletes, but it’s only fairly recently been used for cosmetic purposes. The treatment involves having your own plasma introduce to the surface of your face which helps to produce collagen and fill out the skin, reducing the appearance of wrinkles and lines.
First, you have a small amount of blood drawn from your arm. This is then put through a centrifuge which separates your red and white blood cells from the plasma. Your face is then numbed and your plasma is applied to your face. Then, your medical practitioner uses a machine to create small channels in the top layer of your skin to allow the plasma to be better absorbed.
Within a few days, you should notice that your skin appears fuller and the appearance of wrinkles has been reduced. Although platelet rich plasma procedures are most commonly performed on the face, they can also be used to stimulate follicle growth on your scalp and also on your hand to reduce the appearance of ageing.
Dermal fillers have many uses, but primarily they are used for reducing the appearance of lines and wrinkles. It is a versatile treatment that can be used in a variety of places, including the face and hands. The benefits of dermal fillers are apparent immediately after the treatment but will bring increased improvements for a number of days afterwards. The treatment takes, roughly, 30 minutes.
Anti-wrinkle injections are used to reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles and can be used in a lot of places, including around the eyes, the lips, forehead and the nose. Anti-wrinkle injections can be used for more than just aesthetic purposes. They can also be used to help ease excessive sweating and migraines. You can find out more about this treatment and discuss its suitability for you by contacting us. After the treatment, it may take a day or two for any redness to disappear and you’ll be left with beautiful, smooth, skin. The treatment normally takes around half an hour and the effects normally last between 4-6 months.
The last treatment we’ll look at is the non-surgical rhinoplasty. A rhinoplasty is another name for a nose job, which is performed to change the shape of the nose to the patient’s desired shape.
A surgical rhinoplasty is a very costly procedure which, according to the NHS, costs around £4500-£7000 in the UK. In addition to the cost, a surgical rhinoplasty also comes with a lengthy recovery time, with swelling sometimes lasting months. Because of the swelling that you will experience, the results of the nose job may not be evident for a few months after.
The drawbacks associated with a surgical rhinoplasty are very different to that of the non-surgical option. During a non-surgical nose job, your nose is injected with fillers to change the shape of the nose. This allows you to smooth out the bridge of the nose and change the angle. This treatment is significantly cheaper than the surgical option, a fraction of the thousands of pounds it costs to have your nose surgically altered. The results can also be seen more quickly and you don’t experience the months of bruising and swelling that you can with a conventional, surgical rhinoplasty.
